Combined procedures

When the face is to be rejuvenated as a whole.

At the Kuzbari Centre for Aesthetic Medicine we understand that true beauty lies in harmony. Combined operations such as a neck lift, upper and lower eyelid lift, brow lift or autologous fat grafting allow comprehensive rejuvenation — with only one recovery period.

Why combining so often makes sense

The face is a whole.

There are many reasons why we perceive a face as “old”. In the face the soft tissue descends, fat tissue and bony structures lose volume, skin quality changes. On the neck, skin and musculature become lax and the contour bulges forward as in a double chin. The eyelids show age-related changes such as hooded lids and so-called eye bags. The brows descend, the upper lip lengthens, the corners of the mouth droop.

Modern facelift surgery therefore pursues a holistic approach. The aim is not to rejuvenate individual regions in isolation, but to rejuvenate the face harmoniously as one unit — so that the result looks natural and involves no unwanted change of character.

Combined operations offer the possibility of correcting several age-related changes in one procedure — with only one recovery period. Assoc. Prof. Dr Rafic Kuzbari analyses your features in a detailed consultation and develops an individual treatment plan that unites all areas — from the neck to the eyes — harmoniously.

Frequently combined procedures

These procedures complement a facelift

  • Open neck lift

The neck often says more about age than the face itself. A neck lift shapes the contour — against the “turkey neck” and for a clear jawline. Where laxity is moderate a lateral tightening suffices; with pronounced platysmal bands or fat bulges we recommend an open neck lift with a discreet incision beneath the chin.

  • Upper eyelid lift (blepharoplasty)

Hooded lids caused by lax tissue make the expression look tired. An upper eyelid lift removes excess skin and tightens the structures — for an alert gaze. This procedure is frequently combined with a facelift.

  • Lower eyelid lift

Eye bags and lax lower-lid skin make the face look older. We correct excess skin and bulging fat — often in combination — for a smooth, youthful appearance.

  • Fat grafting (lipofilling)

With age the face loses volume. Under local anaesthesia we harvest living fat cells (for example from the thigh or abdomen), prepare them and inject them precisely to fill hollow areas.

  • Brow lift

The brows shape the expression of the upper face. Over time they descend laterally, which makes the gaze look tired. A brow lift — often as part of a facelift — raises them gently.

  • Lip lift (bullhorn lift)

Shortens the distance between nose and upper lip — a subtle correction with a great effect on the perception of age.

Facelift, neck lift, eyelid lift & autologous fat

How the procedures interlock.

The deep plane facelift moves the descended cheek tissue — SMAS, cheek fat pads and retaining ligaments — back into its original position and restores the midface, cheek and jawline. The chin and neck line that the facelift opens up in the lower face is carried through consistently by an open neck lift: the separated edges of the platysma are rejoined, bulging fat reduced where needed, and the skin adapted without tension.

While the facelift repositions tissue, autologous fat grafting restores volume where it has been lost with age — for instance in the transition from lower lid to cheek or at the temples. The eyelid lift, in turn, rejuvenates the eye region, which a tightened lower face would otherwise outshine. Only in this interplay does a coherent overall picture emerge — with no single “operated” area next to an aged one.

Why combine

The advantages of a combined procedure

  • Only one anaesthetic

Instead of several separate operations, all corrections are carried out under a single general anaesthetic — less overall strain on the body.

  • Only one healing phase

Swelling, bruising and social downtime occur once, not repeatedly. Most people allow around four weeks until they are fully presentable again.

  • One harmonious picture

Face and neck are rejuvenated as one unit. That way no aged area is left next to a freshly operated one.

  • Precisely coordinated

The transitions between the treated regions can be matched more precisely in one procedure than in separate operations.

  • One consultation pathway

Planning, the pre-operative discussion and aftercare run together for all procedures — under one roof at the Kuzbari Centre.

  • Economically sensible

A shared surgical preparation and one clinic stay instead of several — the combination is as a rule less expensive than the sum of separate procedures.

Combined procedures — the key points

A frequent combination Facelift + neck lift + eyelid lift + autologous fat assembled individually from these building blocks
Principle Repositioning instead of over-tightening reposition the deep structures, adapt the skin without tension
Anaesthesia General anaesthetic one anaesthetic for all procedures
Clinic stay usually 2 nights as an inpatient in your own patient room
Presentable again after approx. 4 weeks with make-up; final result after around 6 months

Frequently asked questions about combined procedures

Answers that create clarity.

Which procedures can be combined with a facelift?

Frequently combined are an open neck lift, an upper and/or lower eyelid lift, a brow lift, autologous fat grafting (lipofilling) and a lip lift. Which of these make sense for you depends on your anatomy and your wishes and is decided in the personal consultation.

Why does a combination often make sense?

The face ages as a whole — soft tissue descends, volume disappears, skin and neck musculature become lax, the eyelids change. If individual regions are rejuvenated in isolation, a treated area can look incongruous next to an aged one. Combining rejuvenates face and neck harmoniously as one unit.

Does combining mean more risk or a longer recovery?

On the contrary: instead of several separate operations, each with its own anaesthetic and its own healing phase, anaesthesia, downtime and aftercare occur only once. Most patients allow around four weeks until they are fully presentable again.

Which anaesthesia is needed for a combined procedure?

Combined facial operations are as a rule carried out under general anaesthesia — by our own anaesthesia team in the Kuzbari Centre's own operating theatres.

How long do I stay in the clinic after a combined procedure?

Most patients spend two nights in our own patient room after the operation and are cared for around the clock by our medical team during that time.

What does a combined procedure cost?

A facelift with Assoc. Prof. Dr Rafic Kuzbari lies in the range of € 35,000 to € 60,000. The exact price depends on the extent of the operation and the time it requires. A combination is as a rule less expensive than the sum of separately performed procedures. You receive a detailed, complete cost estimate as early as the first consultation — including all check-ups and aftercare.

Does that make the result look unnatural?

No. The same principle applies to combined procedures: reposition the deep structures, adapt the skin without tension. The aim is natural rejuvenation without a mask-like look and without an unwanted change of character — you look fresher, not “different”.
